XREI.com
XREI.com is all about Portugal. For several years I've been gathering and learning about the world, especially about Portugal, so my goal was always to write about, visit and photograph as much of the country as possible.
Back in the late 90s I was already creating HTML websites. In 2008 I bought ruasdaslojas.com, and my goal was to virtualize Portugal.
Every place has a shopping street, a rua das lojas in Portuguese. I wanted to put all those ruas das lojas online, listing all the local commerce and helping the small local businesses.
Life got in the way, and ruasdaslojas.com was put on hold. Years later the same idea returned with a wider scope, and XREI.com is the evolution of rua das lojas.
ONEZ.com
Another big dream of a boy from a small place was to travel the world and visit all countries. That happened in part, but mostly in books and on maps.
Several side projects appeared along the way as hobbies, namely creating data sets with world information and creating maps. So it evolved into an online personal atlas, where I gather information about all countries and multiple places in the world. ONEZ.com
CARIBBEANISLANDS.com
My most visited and most liked subregion in the world is the Caribbean. I started going in the late 90s. I returned multiple times, visited many islands and dreamed of living there. I even met my wife on a trip there, back in 2003.
So I created caribbeanislands.com as a second side hobby, while reading travel books.
The three sites today
These three sites get new information every day. They are where I implement my most advanced and fastest code, performing faster than the blink of an eye.
All these websites gather curated information that I read and create for myself, and to help others with shared knowledge, which I consider the most valuable asset of today.
All three sites are in premium .com domains, and each name exists only once. They are used to build solid projects and real information for you.
